Research Experience:

Zakiah Ahmad, PhD, is a Professor and Dean for the Faculty of Civil Engineering at the Universtiti Teknologi MARA, Malaysia. The research activities of Professor Ahmad include polymer and cement composites from wood and renewable raw materials, polymer-based nanocomposites, adhesive-timber connections/joints, timber engineering, and bonded-in timber connection. Up to this date she has secured and leads more them 30 numbers of research grants worth more than RM12 million. She has published more than 300 papers in journals and proceedings. She has received several gold and silver awards on her research projects at national and international research competitions. She also the recipient of best researcher award and gold consultant award.

Professor Ahamd also has played an essential role in the Malaysian Standard committees as the Chairman and commitee member and as Malaysian delegates/representative for ISO technical committee. She also active in giving keynote papers at numerous seminars and conferences at national and international level.
